My name is Artemis Papert. I
have been painting and
drawing for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Geneva,
Switzerland. I
spend many years doing research in biology. My work brought me to
Scotland
where I have been living since 1999. First in Edinburgh and now in
Aberdeen. I am
now working as an artist and a therapist.
When I create art it is a dialogue with shapes and colours.
I let
myself be guided by the emerging work.
It becomes an ever changing
transformation of shapes and colours.
In the process I also get
transformed myself.
Abstract art is my main style.
I use colours,
shapes and textures to express
an inner world, an inner landscape,
inhabited by intuition, feelings, emotions.
And lots of hope.
The
finished work is the inner landscapes in the outer world.
While I work mostly with
acrylic and ink, I also use watercolour, gouache and pastel.
I recently
started exploring digital art. I find it allows striking
combinations of randomness
and structure.
We are all story tellers,
my stories are told in shapes
and colours.
